I'm leaving!

Hello everyone,

I'm sailing the Straights of Johore this Saturday to sunny Batam island for mission trip! Instead of staying at Banyan Tree Resort, I will be staying at Coconut Tree Resort! Haha kidding... We're lodging at a Bible School run by Mansang AOG.

I'm going to be preaching the word there, please pray for me as it's Wednesday already and I still have no idea what topic to preach on. Pray that God will guide me, pray that I will be in constant communion with God this week so that I can hear God's heartbeat for the land.

Finally, please also pray for safety. This is the first time any R-agers have touched the soil of Batam, we are pioneers! Last time we touched Bintan and Bekasi soil, this time it's Batam! Whoohoo! We are conquering the world!

I'd like to highlight a mission trip next year in November to you guys. It's to India! Exciting right? Well I figure by that time all of you would be 17 years old. Legal age for mission trip le! Well okay, there's no such thing as legal age for mission trip but under the umbrella of Grace AOG, our mission trip age is kinda like NC16. Haha... so I'm really glad that Eddie and Jondave can be involved in this time's Mission Explosion.

Hope you are having fruitful holidays, I'd like you guys to post your encounters with God throughout the week here, too. Don't just study and study and never spend time with God k!

Peace out.

Announcements

Hi everyone,

I enjoyed teaching cell yesterday, I hope you enjoyed it too! By the way, Hannah made a couple of announcements yesterday and here's a recap of it just to keep you posted.

  • Powerpraise
We will be having the 2nd installment of Powerpraise this Sunday, the 14th May. The theme is "Loved One" and we're encouraged to bring a friend (our loved one) who is yet to be saved or to bring an inaminate object that we love, if we can't bring a friend. e.g. Handphone, iPod, etc. It is in 3rd Level Hall, as usual.

  • Missions Explosion
Have you always wanted to go on Mission trips but always fall below the age limit? This June, our ministry is having a program called "Missions Explosion Month" where we will be sending out team after team of mission trippers to Bintan and Batam Island on 2D1N mission trips over four weekends starting 17/18 June. Since for secondary school students, school will reopen in July, you only have the option of 17/18 June and 23/24 June to sign up, unless you don't mind using your weekends during school term. Highly encouraged, I say!

You can sign up using the forms issued during/after service. Fill in your particulars and pass it to Esther Lum (she's the tall pretty lady), who is in charge of registration. I'm in charge of this whole Missions Explosion thing so you must support me okay! If you need more information just ask Hannah or myself.

  • Change of Cell Venue
Those of you who have "tasted" the new cell venue will know that it is erm, not so conducive. And the canteen is WAY better than the classrooms, ha! I loved the breeze there. However right, if I am playing for service, I gotta be back in church at 11.30. That means I gotta end cell at 11.00am if I am teaching for that Sunday. Haha, and that means that you guys gotta come to cell at 10.00am! So let's discuss possible solutions ok?

Alright, that's all the announcements for now.

Take care,
Samantha
